I’ve made it through another week of work. I’m glad it’s over and I can actually sleep with Poppy and have some time with the grandkids and him. I really like my job and I’ve certainly had worse, but it’s always good to have the week over. I work 4 overnight shifts of 11 or 12 hours then have 3 days off. It’s the best schedule I’ve had for a long time.
But I sleep all day long and start getting ready for work when everyone else is home for the evening. But I like having three days off every week. It gives me time to actually get some stuff done around the house and visit with the family.
I took my 5 year old grandson his birthday present by on Sunday. It was late but I like
to wait until I know what other presents they get and they decide what they want. He wanted a Tonka Crane. I think it was a big hit for him and his little brother.
I usually go by motherhubbards house on Tuesday mornings and have bagels and coffee.
But this Tuesday morning I got off early because I had to go to work early. So I stopped by McDonald’s and got sausage and biscuits for everyone and got there in time for breakfast and early enough to take the girls to school. The boys were still asleep and mh and I had time to visit with the girls while they ate and got ready. It was so nice. It was nothing extraordinary, just family getting ready for school and work and passing the time. No rushing, which is always good. When we got to the school, the 12 year old gave me a kiss but he 8 year old was afraid she would be seen kissing her Granny and would be embarrassed. But I got lots of kisses from her before we left the house, so it was ok.
I missed seeing the boys, though. I usually get to visit with them on Tuesday morning. The 5 year old was still asleep. The 2 year old had gotten up but was involved with his sausage and biscuit and couldn’t be bothered just yet. But I will get to kid sit them all on Thursday evening. The girls have already given Poppy their pizza order so they are expecting pizza for supper. Poppy always meets their expectations!
This week on my days off I need to rearrange my bedroom. I want to pull the carpet up but Poppy isn’t too sure about that. I may do it while he’s at work and then there will be nothing he can do about it. Once, when we were living in a different house, he had promised me new carpet for about 2 years and not followed through. One day he came home from work and the carpet from the living room, dining room, den, and hallway was laying in the front yard. So, I got my new carpet. Sometimes a gal just has to do whatever it takes.

Sounds like a pretty good week. Your grandkids sound funny:D I remember being 8 and not wanting to be caught kissing my parents and such. I love those moments when nothing special is happening, but it is just the normal good moments in life. Good luck with the carpet. I've not gone that far yet, but I'm always moving stuff around (about ever 2-3 months I do the whole house). It drives my hubby crazy:lol:

The boys are having trouble sharing that crane. We had to bring in the other equipment like that inside so the living room is under construction. I think they need little hard hats and a clip board. The kids are looking forward to tomorrow and the pizza. I have enough chili so if you would rather have that I can send it.

It may not be pizza...I'm actually thinking about cooking!! It would be so different for the kids they may not know what to do. I'll look for some hard hats next week. I think we have some in the toy dept. Won't that be cool...or groovy...or whatever is said now.

It's really cool to be able to read this family by-play, Granny and motherhubbard and Poppy. I told my Mom about you three (she's the other bookworm in the family and I'm angling DESPERATELY to get her to join the LitNet but so far nothing) and she just laughed.
