A busy week

What a week I had. The whole week seemed crazy to me with having an extra child in the house. My son and niece are only 6 weeks apart, as I'm sure I've mentioned before. They are enough to make me grateful that I never had twins:D It was a good week, but I'm happy that my family left this morning. I have my house back, and I can relax a little. Entertaining for a whole week is exhausting. We went to the zoo, which is 2+ hours away. We went to parks and plenty of other things. I also went shopping for my daughter's birthday. That was all before Friday.

Friday was my 5th wedding anniversary. We went out to dinner, and my hubby gave me a very unexpected gift. He picked out a new wedding and engagement ring set for me. When we married there wasn't much money to spend on rings, so the set I had wasn't the one he would have chosen. I loved it just fine, but the diamonds wouldn't stay in the band and I had two missing. He chose one of those three stone sets and a band with small diamonds all in white gold. I love it, but I did not expect to get anything so lavish. We had agreed to not do gifts this year because money is tight with planning to move soon and all. I don't know how he did it, but it had to be one of the nicest surprises I've ever recieved.

Saturday was Victoria's first birthday. We can't believe it's been a year already, but we had a good time. She was very neat with her cake. Well, neat for a baby:) She was more amused at getting to use a fork. As expected, she liked the wrapping paper much more than any of the gifts within, but she has been playing with them today. She recieved some new puzzles and clothes for the fall. It was a wonderful day, and Garrick and my niece also enjoyed it. He's been really funny lately about Victoria. He's been refering to her as "my baby". He seems to think she is all his:lol: He's very protective and it is really cute. He was even upset when I corrected her for hitting me this morning:)

Well I'm going to go. I will write again soon, and I'll be sure to tell a little more about the kids. They've been doing so many new and funny things. I hope all is going well for everyone else.

Take Care,
Meg

Congratulations, Meg, on your anniversary. Your hubby's surprise was very nice, glad he did that for you! Having your home to yourself will make things appear too quiet at first, I'd venture, but it will be great to be back to normal!

What a thoughtful guy, your hubby! Such a nice surprise.

Oh geez, speaking of twins. I read something by this lady who was expecting triplet boys--and she'd already had twin boys! That poor, poor woman. She was looking for name advice, and I was half-tempted to give her some because (and I'm sure Virg would be amused by this) her twins were named Casey and Blake. The third baseman for the Cleveland Indians is named Casey Blake! So I nearly advised her to name the triplets after other Indians players.

...And protective big brothers are darling.

That's funny Higley. Another pregancy and she can field a whole team.

No kidding Virg! A whole team and a few designated hitters on the side. Poor lady.

:lol:Twins and then triplets... I would have to stop there. They could be there own boyscout troop. I think 5 boys would be enough. They wouldn't need any other members:lol: And Virgil, you're right. Husbands aren't too bad at all, but I'll admit I think mine is the best one out there. I think I'm biased, though;)

The big five and a major hurdle crossed. When you two hit the ten you'll wonder where the time went and wren't the kids just little darlings. I thought the rings were nice from the huby. I always tell the long suffering one I have no money but by the grace of God manage to do SOMETHING every year birthday, anniversary and brownie point days.

How very sweet of your huby! When Poppy and I got married, we got bands because we didn't have enough money for an engagement ring. It took 13 years but I got it one Christmas wrapped in a hugh package. They can be sweet and I so glad you got a good one. 5 is a milestone, but in 20 years or so, you'll wonder how you made it the first 10. Everything gets better and better, too. Happy Anniversary!!
