What I really wanted to blog about from the Canada trip was the places we visited. Lothlorien, Rivendell, Fangorn, and Rohan. Actually they weren't called that, but that's what it seemed like. We went to Fangorn and Rivendell in Canada and oh! The trees we saw. Really put my life into perspective. I mean, I've gone around just thinking about my life and how important it is (to me) and that there wasn't much else that really MATTERED. This was all unconsciously thought, mostly, until I saw The Trees. You become so small, so insignificant, so dwarfed by their splendour. That verse in Psalms --"what is man that Thou art mindful of him?--hit home hard. Why in the name of all that's wonderful am I important to God? I've done nothing and deserve nothing but His everlasting scorn and shame for my sins but He loves me. He LOVES me, unconditionally. He, God, the creator of the world and everything in it. There's lots in the world that's far more deserving of God's love than I am. And yet, He forgave me my sins and He loves me and He wants me to be with Him in glory. And not only me alone! That love is open to all who want it.

We went the scenic route through Oregon and back home. That's when we passed through Lothlorien (actually it was the Avenue of the Giants, the famous redwood forest). Honestly, if I had seen Haldir and other elves stepping out from behind the trees with their bows nocked and ready, I wouldn't have been surprised. That was an experience in a million. It really brought home Middle-earth to me. I left a part of me in each of the forests we visited and I seriously wouldn't mind being a hermit and living in the forest with my books and music. It would be idyllic.
We saw a 3200 year old tree there, and we actually drove through another tree. It made my spine tingle, it was so amazing.

So, on Monday school starts up again. I'm dreading it and yet looking forward to it. 11th grade is nothing to sneeze at. I'll be taking high school chemistry at a local college because my mom doesn't have a lab and doesn't fancy teaching me chemistry. That is going to be hard. But I will be taking a library skills class, so that sweetens the deal a bit.
My Mom and I have started looking at colleges and stuff I have to do. SAT test classes coming up soon. I don't do well with tests so the classes for it will be a big help. Thankfully, I won't have to do too many mathematics/science classes because my chosen career doesn't deal much with it. I'm going to be a librarian with a specialty in English Literature. Smilies all the way!

In ending: my sister and I got iPods today! They had a terrific sale on them at Costco, so we each got refurbished 30 GB ones for the price of two brand new 4 GB. Pretty cool, hm?

Talk to you later! --I think for my next entry, I'll blog about my grandfather. He's a character!

One tip for test taking. Cover the answers (if they are multiple choice)--read the question and think what the answer you expect it to be then check your choices. Should help. I think 11th grade was my favorite year--12th having as number of social things went wrong so all the best.

That's good advice. I'll keep it in mind. But with the math/science sections I'm not taking any chances (don't trust myself that far ). I'll be working the problems!........Thanks for commenting.

You'll do fine in chemistry. It's easier than it sounds. Ipods are the greatest invention ever. I love mine and I can't picture life without it.

I'm jealous - I wish I could have visited those places. Did you take pictures? Can you post them?

VIRGIL: I'm glad chemistry is easier than it sounds. iPods are really cool too.
COUNTESS: (It's lovely to see you!!) Pictures are on the way! I'm an awful photographer but my sister took a couple. I'll try to post them tomorrow.
