The Zone and Dieting

It has been a nice few days. I'm in the zone at the moment. Not with writing, but with sewing. I've made the apron I mentioned several posts ago. The only thing I have left to add are the buttons, but I seem to have lost them. I'll buy more later this week. I'm also sewing a tote bag that I bought fabric for and never got around to making. I think that I'll finish that today, and I will also get some more sewing finished on my daughter's quilt.
So far my time off from school is going well. I've had some time to get some of my craft projects completed. This always puts me in a good mood. The best part is that my husband is on night shift, so I can spend some time at night working on my story. I need to sit and read what I have so I can try to pick back up the threads. I have a few scenes in my head that I need to write out before they are lost. One will be added to the first chapter and it is going to be a dinner between Vern, Arabella, and some of her co-workers. I also need to find somewhere to fit in more of a description of the company and what it is that they do. I think this may be something that I add in when Vern is introduced. It is his business, afterall, which means that for me it makes sense to have both bits together. I think that the dinner scene will also gie me a little more time to show what sort of a person Arabella is, so that the reader can sympathize more when she finds herself lost.
See, just writing this has helped. I feel as if I'm getting a good grip on where it is that I want to go with my story. I need to figure out some details for my third chapter. This is actually going to be the introduction of the planet and people that Arabella is going to find herself among, so I'm trying to write it carefully so that you can "see" what the place is like. I've the picture in my head, but, much like my painting, getting it from my head to the page isn't always simple. Maybe I'll sketch some of the characters along with some flora and fauna of the planet. Sometimes this can really be a help to me.
There isn't much else going on. I've finally cleared my house of most of the junk food from when our friends were visiting. This is good for me since I need to get back on my diet. I've been trying to drop all the extra weight I've gained over the last few years. I figure that with entering the workforce again, I'll be much more confident if I'm happy with how I look. Two kids and four years sitting on my butt doing school work has added more than 40 pounds to my boday. I'm lookng to take 30 pounds of the weight back off. I've been doing really well up until the last couple of weeks. I've managed to drop 15 pounds and I'm even fitting back into some of my old shirts. I've been doing the Weight Watchers diet and it is really good. I can eat what I want, but what I eat determines how much food I eat in a day. I can have that Jack in the Box cheeseburger, but it is the only thing I'm going to eat that day. I choose to eat healthy and have smaller portions so that I'm not feeling as if I'm going hungry. I also try to exercise a few times a week, and when I do I can splurge a little and have some ice cream. I just need to start keeping track of my "points" (the value associated with each food) so I can start taking off some more pounds. I'm in a size ten and my goal is to fit back into a size 6 when I am finished. I'm figuring that it will be at least another three months before I have lost all the weight I wish to.
I'm starting to ramble, so I'm off to get some things finished around my house. I hope you are all having a good day and that life is treating you good.
Take Care,
Meg
I'm just editing this in since I don't really have anything new to add to what I've already said. I just finished some editing a rewriting on he first three chapters of my story. I've also decided on a tentative title, so if you go to the short story section you can read the rewritten story. Please leave feedback in the thread since I use some of this when editing. The title is "Kings, Queens, and Pawns"
