READING

I went to the library today with my grandkids. It was an experience. They got out of the car with a basket filled with books. All kinds of books for ages from preschool to early adult. I was so proud of them because there was only one that I noticed them saying wasn't finished. As they spead throughout the library, I thought that my own Mother would be so proud of herself. She taught me to read before I ever started school and I was always told that it was morally wrong to have the ability to read and not read. So I read all the time. There were no restrictions on what I could read either. As long as I was reading. My Mother and my Grandmother and I would pass around the book I brought home from the library and all would read them. Sometimes my brothers would read them or they would bring home something we'd all pounce on like we were starving. I passed my love of reading on to my children and now their children are enjoying some of the same books. I especially loved having my 12 year old granddaughter suggesting books I might like. Mom, you done good.
