I'm all smiles today

Rate this Entry
Finally a little bit of a break. I'm all smiles today, because I've finished my Strategic Business class, not only early but with an "A" as well. That is a huge sigh of relief you hear coming from me across the computer. I typed up my final paper last night, and today, much to my surprise since grades never come out this quickly, my teacher has read it and posted my grade. So, I'm down to one last class, and I'm eagerly awaiting my biology course. I have a real passion and talent for the sciences and I'm looking foward to learning about the changes in the field. The last time I took a biology class was freshman year in high school, and the project where they were mapping the human genes was still in planning phases. It will be nice to see all they learned since molecular biology is what I'm taking.

On another note, I have an entire 2 1/2 week break since I managed to finish early. I'm finally going to make the time to sew the apron I was talking about as well as work on my daughter's quilt. Maybe I can at least get the blocks sewn together so I don't have 19 half finished ones laying around. One is already sewn since I wanted to see what it would look like when I started to make the quilt. I'm also thinking of doing some cooking. I love to make jelly and jam when fruit is in season, so I think the kids and I may go on a strawberry and blueberry picking trip and then I can make some jelly to give as gifts for the holidays. The nice thing is that if we go picking, I will only have to pay maybe a dollar or two a pound so I can make gifts for my entire family, almost, with about $50 dollars after buying everything I need. This is always good, when we are trying to save as much money as possible for a downpayment on a house. I also finally have a little time to write, if I don't use it all doing a thousand other things:D. It is going to be a lovely couple of weeks if I can do anything about it.

Overall, it has just been a great day. Nothing but pleasant thoughts. Beautiful weather helps with keeping my spirit light. I've even been enjoying the 80 degree weather. The dropping of stress from school is another huge worry off my shoulders. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted since there is nothing stopping me from my degree. The only thing that would ruin it now would be if I just don't do anything next term, and that isn't going to happen. It costs too much money for a single term to not work my hardest. I've also started looking at the housing market more. There are some houses in the $150 thousand range that I think we will be able to afford. They're not our dream house, but at 23 I don't really expect to be able to afford that. I just want a nice home in a good neighborhood where I can raise my kids. We should be able to get approved for a home loan, but we aren't sure with my hubby not sure of where he will be working. I'm not sure how that will work with him getting out of the military, but we are looking into a VA loan and trying to determine if we are eligible. Now all I need to do is start applying for jobs, but that is still a couple of months off. I'm looking, though. I hope everyone else has been having as nice of a day as me and if not, I'm sending my wishes that you will.

Let me add my Congrats to that of the Countess' and Kizzie's. I've been reading your posts with closer attention...you sound like a fine young woman deserving of a fine future, with many more pleasant thoughts amid pleasant days. (You're studying molecular biology? I HAD to take that as a student at NYU. Do you know what happens when a musician, such as myself, is in a situation like that?...it was horrible!!!)
