At 4 pm California time Mari Grace Mtpspur had the good sense and the grace of God to arrive into the worlds courtesy of mother Loretta. Seeing as how it's 7 pm Ohio time I was able to hear the news from son Jim when it stated "She arrived 4 o'clock on the dot."

My immediate response was "Fantastic." Jim got the joke.

Two minutes later Brandy did not.

For new readers I'm a comic book collector who grew up with the Fantastic Four. My response just had to be said.

I could hear her crying quite loudly in the background. And no I didn't get the size/weight--we'll let Ruth tell me later--she's at work. She can have that moment.

I remark to Jim that in the eight minutes she's been alive I've heard more from her then her mother in two years--Loretta is very very quiet --makes daughter Sandy seem like a non--stop chatterbox. He laughs. I let him get back to the new family member and (finally) manage to say Praise God before he hangs up---but not sure he heard that. I am way too fast with the jokes--a little behind in the thankfulness.

And God is still good.

    Awww that is so fantastic. I love it when new babies are born. I know you won't be on the computer for quite a while catching up with the family and all. But a great big hug and congratulations to the new baby mtpspur! I will pray a blessing this evening.

    It was hot today in Death Valley too I bet. It was hot where I am.

    Congratulations - babies/children are a blessing (albeit mixed, but a blessing nevertheless!) I know you'll be a great Grandad. Look at all the stories you can tell her - one day - when she's 65 - C

    You know by now I'm slow (get bogged down dealing with 'problems' around here) but I always look forward to the positive aspects of this site: congratulations to you !
