What a busy few days

Wow, so it has been some busy days these last few. I've not even had a chance to really hop on and look around the lit net. Then I get on today only to find a thread where Countess is saying goodbye. Shame on you for scaring me like that. Since I know you are likely reading this, know I would have missed you and I had this whole speech typed out in reply to tell you just how important you are to so many of us. I for one love your humor and whit. Where else can I read a recounting of the term "man boobs" or a fairy tale that makes me laugh till my sides hurt. Then I found the end of the thread and felt much better. So, goodbye and welcome back:) (big sigh of relief).
Now, things here have been crazy too, but I'm not too worried about it. I'm more worried about the fact that admist all the confusion I've forgotten much of what I had worked out in my head to add to my story. That's a big pain for me, since now I need to read everything again and try to pick up where I left off. Hopefully it will come back to me as I'm writing. Mtpspur, thanks for your review that is exactly the type of information I'm looking for. I'm not likely to find any time to write this week. I guess it is good that I forgot what I wanted to write anyway, otherwise I would be quite angry at the moment for not having the time to do so.
Our visit with friends is going alright, I guess. Actually, it is a bit of a disaster. I'm ready for everyone to leave and life to go back to its boring monotony, but I have days left of entertaining. I don't know what to think of our friends girl. She seems nice enough, but she also stormed to bed the first couple of nights in a temper tantrum. Things have been getting better, but I'm still left wondering what to think. It is just stressing to me when I'm not fond of having people in my house for extended periods to have the two of them fighting. I could ask them to stay somewhere else, but I doubt my husband would hear of that. This is his best friend and they've known each other for about ten years, and I don't think I could do it either. We've been friends for the last six or so. So, what's a girl to do? I'm guessing I'm going to grin and deal with the whole situation. Aside from the two of them arguing it is still a bit of a disaster. The two of us have nothing in common. She is the primping, two hours to get ready, and loves clothes sort of girl. I'm your pull your hair back and jeans and t-shirt girl. I'm not girly at all, so it is making me uncomfortable to try and talk with someone who is. If you have any suggestions for things to converse about to fill the silence, please let me know. I'm sinking here, and feeling like the world's worst hostess.
I'm off for now, I have tons of cooking to do. I'm about halfway finished but I still need to make some guacamole, strawberry shortcake, and peanut brittle. Hope everyone is having a good day.
