Different Beginning

Well, well, well, I must say that this is going to be quite a different blog for me than my usual ones. No, I'm not a newbie to the blogosphere; actually I've been blogging since the 8th grade, though back then I don't think it was called "blogging" just yet. It was an "online diary," and it still exists today at a-freak.diaryland.com. That blog was begun as many of mine were; as an outlet for stress, extreme emotion, and an expression of my hard times directed really at no one...I just wanted it to be out there, I liked the idea that anyone could know me through my writing.

I have since started other blogs, mostly under the same conditions and mostly to experiment with sites besides diaryland which allowed more creativity in the layout of the blog pages...but you know what? I realized that I was more concerned about content than aesthetics...and really the aesthetics wound up distracting me (I would become more concerned about how attractive my blog looked than how good the writing was). I realize that I like simplicity, and because of this I have deleted two blogs in the past and I have one sitting idle right now...the a-freak.diaryland.com one still gets posts now and again, and my Notes feature on facebook.com is my more recent outlet, though it is obviously directed more at friends than at the general population of the world.

This blog is starting on a different note than all the others. I am not trying to expel my anger, sadness, or annoyance with something or someone...nor am I trying to communicate with people I have met in person and whom I know intimately...and I am also not trying to impress anyone with shimmering, sparkling, flashy graphics...here I feel happier, safer about making a blog...because litnet is a place where I go to escape schoolwork without abandoning it, because I do like school, and litnet is a place where I go to communicate with people, whom I haven't met in person, but who have over a short span of time proven to be in that grouping of people that I like to call "intelligent analyzers" and "thinkers." I like to surround myself with people like you, and I think that by creating a blog here amongst yours, that I will effectively be doing so.

Thanks again admins, creators, and whoever came up with this brilliance. As you can tell, I enjoy blogging. I hope mine turns out to be an entertaining and informative (because really, what else are blogs supposed to be?) addition to the site. Blog on, brothers and sisters, blog on!
