Pursuit of happiness

Rate this Entry
Today I have been feeling much better and have been pursuing happiness. I looked it up in a book I got a few Christmases ago about "everything" (Not exactly everything but pretty close) and I found a part about being happy. I decided that even though my mood had improved I didn't want to spiral down again. The advice was pretty basic. Basically it said to make a list of all of the things that make you happy and try to do them (I made a mental list during my four free lessons at school today). Then I tried to do them. The first thing I did was make my little section of the common room more comfortable (I had it all to myself). Then I sat around bored for a while, thinking of something to do. I played a few games on the computers in the study room then got bored and went back to the Common room for break time. Then I did a spot of doodling. I drew a strange kind of lizard type thing (badly) in the sonic the hedgehog style that was supposed to be me. Then I decided to draw Tom. I tend to associate the male gender with rabbits (Due to what is said top occupy their thoughts most of the time. No offence guys) and Tom is no exception. So I started to draw a rabbit in the same style as before. I attempted to give it a kind of lions mane (Because Tom always likened himself to a lion) but it looked more like a fancy collar for a jester. Then the idea hit me. i turned Tom into a Jester Bunny . I tried to think of the least funny name for it as I could and I settled on Steve for some reason (Apologies to all Steve's). I couldn't call it Tom, otherwise Tom would have complained. Then I remembered something that always made me happy. That was making fun of Tom and his alter ego (I had/have one too) with little stick figure comics in year 12. I discontinued the misadventures of the four poorly drawn characters somewhere between year 13 and year 14. In some strange way I kind of miss them.
I had character A (My alter ego) the technical genius and brains of the operation.
Dissaray (I know it's spelt wrong. I didn't know how to spell it before and now when ever someone mentions it to him he punches them in the face and says it's "unique" ) the violet and explosive mad one who pilots the team's Jet.
Lili the flirt (Put in because Tom preferred humanoid animals and liked cats) the genetically altered humanoid cat and Character X (Tom's alter ego) the comic relief and complete moron who keeps breaking the toaster and constantly serves as an immortal moving target for Dissaray to shoot .
Recalling how happy I was, when scribbling the stick figures madly as soon as i had an idea, I decided to revisit the project. The notebook I drew all of their adventures in was at home and I was out of clean scrap paper so I had to use the written side of a piece instead. I titled it "Back with a Bang" and the ideas just flooded in. I decided it would be fun in X had a headache and Dissaray kept making loud noises deliberately to make it worse. Then I thought of how X would get the headache. I decided that A would create a special pill that gave people headaches. But then the title didn’t seem to fit so well until I found the perfect idea. Because of the chemicals used to create the pill (And seeing as it hasn't had any testing) it is full of unstable chemicals that make the victim's head explode if there's too much noise (So Dissaray can be even more evil) but because of his immortality, X always survives (Much to Dissaray's disappointment ). I managed to get up to the part where Dissaray made himself and X a cup of coffee. Naturally he knew X would be suspicious if he confessed he made it so he said that the cat girl Lili had made it instead. X was still cautious until Dissaray threatened to do something disgusting to the coffee (He'd have started with spitting in it and going from there). X snatched it away and drank it. If I have time I'd like to get to the next half of the story when X realizes that he has a headache and then Dissaray can really have some fun .
You may think it's a bit silly and pathetic but it always made me happy, so i don't care if anyone does.
Oh, I was a very good girl and ate all of my lunch today too . No letting myself go hungry today.
I drew an awful lot co cats in the steam on the bus window (something I took up doing after Henry died) and witnessed a man, rather comically, step into a pile of dogs mess and proceed to drag his foot on the floor, soak it in puddles and inspect the sole of his shoe. I must say it looked rather like a well rehearsed comedy sketch.
