The internet is a wonderful thing. Okay, that's a generalized statement, and I've felt differently on nights when viruses have crashed my computer along with 4 hours worth of essay-writing, but overall I've had a positive experience with this world wide web...

When I got frustrated over never finding anyone nearby who likes to read and discuss literature, I found literature forums. When I needed ideas and advice for my project car I found an active forum dedicated just to my make, model, and generation. When I was curious about the state of education today, I found education forums and sites. Now, as I attempt to maintain my new year's resolution to eat better and excercise more, I am finding so many informational articles with recipes, meal ideas, and tasty foods that won't ruin the resolution

Now, I know that there is a lot of crap information out there as well, and you can't trust every article found on the first page of Google. Still, if used correctly there is so much to be learned on the net...and so many questions can be answered with quick searches. I mean, even today I stopped and wondered how many public junior high schools there are on St. Thomas, because I may be teaching Jr. High in a couple years and the only one I know of is definitely not my idea of a good place for a first-year teacher. A quick visit to the VI Dpt. of Education's website told me that there is another Jr. High on the other side of the island...woot!

And then I started looking up helpful sites for student teachers, since I will be student teaching in about a year. I'm so glad to see so many helpful sites out there

Anyways, it's been awhile since I've written, so I just felt like tossing on my thoughts for today as I lie in bed doing nothing, waiting for school to start up again...
