Two Weeks of Additional Silence

For those anxiously awaiting the next part of my Christmas storiesI laugh because no one really cares and that’s fine. I’m trying to avoid eye strain for about two weeks. I finally got round to making an optician appointment. I’d been putting it off but recently it’s gotten worse. Results are just as I expected. Short sightedness is exactly the same. Astigmatism has worsened. It’s hardly surprising. As new lenses are expensive I decided to put up with the minor change in my eyes last year. But this year it really couldn’t be avoided. Well. I guess it could realistically. In a zombie apocalypse edges of things not quite being so clear isn’t as big of a deal as man eating zombies and rogue human survivors. Of course. Having to second guess everything you see because it’s not completely clear could result in your untimely death during a survival situation. It really depends on exactly how hostile post-apocalyptic survival would really be. Realistically I think it would be best for me if I didn’t survive the apocalypse since my chances of survival would be pretty low.
At the moment I’m using my old glasses. I can see but it’s difficult. It’s different to when I just had to worry about distance. Now it’s general focus that I have to worry about. I struggle to shift focus at the moment between very close up and further away. This is quite a recent adjustment for me. Being short sighted, bringing things closer to me has always made them clearer. But now with astigmatism it can be a bit of a struggle.
Anyway. Been at this too long.
But I’m staring more at the keys than the screen so I’m managing for now.
My glasses are due back just before my birthday. So that’ll be nice. But my Microsoft trial runs out the day before. I guess that’s kind of why I’ve decided to blog now. Just to use it a bit.
Since I shouldn’t be straining my eyes, all I want to do is things that I shouldn’t. I have a desire to read a book, watch some anime (haven’t watched anything this year) and do some writing. These glasses have to be about three prescriptions old by now at least. I guess if I watched dubbed anime I could manage but I'd never do that. So few English speaking voice actors really emote the way they should. They just end up leaving the characters sounding flat and bland. Of course. If I spoke Japanese then I wouldn't need to read the subtitles to know what's going on. But I can only pick out maybe one or two key words in maybe twenty sentences. It depends on the subject matter. Either way this is a pointless topic because I'm not doing it either way.
Bluebiird out.
