(Alternative title. Can't be bothered to come up with a better title)

Yeah. Been a while.
I'll try being brief but you know I find that difficult.
Been sick this week. Just a cold but it's a bad one. I haven't picked up my guitar all week but I'm anxious to get back to it so that's a good sign I guess. Normally if I take a couple of days off of something I usually don't continue with it.

So. Things to say.
Went to my uncles' at the beginning of October. It was a surprisingly nice day for it.
There's not that much to report from that day. I was a little more reclusive than usual. We were there earlier for a change, got there just as my aunt and her group arrived.
We had to wait for my cousins who were going about other things that day.
As it was a nice day most of the went out in the garden. I spent much time observing my aunts' cavalier king charles spaniel, Rosie, and picking seeds out of her fur. I felt a little sorry for my uncle and his wife because one or both of them had to hang around inside waiting for the others to arrive. So, since I wasn't feeling that sociable I decided to keep them company. Not by providing much conversation, just by my presence. I don't talk much with my uncles' wife. She's partially deaf, which I keep forgetting, and I've always spoken very quietly, so conversation is difficult.
Also I didn't really feel like talking because I didn't have much to say. Still no job. Still not actively looking. Still not written a book. So nothing to say.
Eventually she asked if I was planning to stay inside, that way she could go outside and I could let the others in. I didn't mind. I wasn't exactly happy either but I didn't mind.
I didn't really want to sit there anticipating the doorbell anxiously then jumping when it rang, so I kept pacing around looking through the peephole in the door. It worked because I saw them coming before they even got to the door and opened it. A while later the others arrived but I didn't pre-emptively get the door that time.
My cousin (the tomboyish one) had come from playing netball. I happened to be outside when my uncle asked if she was t-total because he'd offered her a drink and she'd declined requesting water instead, because she'd been playing netball. I thought, as I often do randomly think random things at random times, I wonder if she's pregnant.
Well fast-forward to the evening because I can't remember anything really noteworthy after that, except that one of my second cousins was planning to go to Australia with some mates, most of whom for various reasons weren't going now.
So fast-forward. My cousin asks for everyone's attention.
Now to do this there are only two possible things that can follow. Well, only two likely anyway.
One. They're getting married.
Two. She's pregnant.
She seemed happy so it couldn't be bad news.
Well I was right. She announced that she's pregnant, about 2-3 months at the time.
Funnily enough, they weren't planning on having children. But a short holiday to Austria and contraception never being 100%, hey presto.
She's due in April.

Now. Halloween
I got stuff in advance steadily.
I had everything ready the night before. All I had left to do was decorate the house and do my costume on the day.
Again my timing ended up being a bit off.
I put a spider web and six plastic spiders up outside. Their names are Larry, Barry, Harry, Lewis, Carl and Bob.
I put blood splatters on the door and a bloody handprint just inside.
I put rubber bats and spiders in the treat bowl. The kids could take them if they wanted but I didn't actually tell them that so none did. But it creeped them out a bit.
This year I got some hair chalk, pink and green, but only the green had any effect. So I put green streaks in my hair. I missed two lots of children, so mum had to answer.
First a group of three girls with wings and face paint or something like that. Then I neighbour I used to hang out with taking her little boy around.
Then I was ready.
We had another two lots and that was it.

It was a pretty successful day.

Pictures to follow eventually. No there will be none of the house nor me in costume, we forgot to take that this year.

So. I guess that's all really.
