Just cut my nails. They were too long for typing comfortably again. So I haven't finished the stuff from Christmas. Yeah well, you know that's what I'm like.
You know how sometimes you want to write or feel you should write something but just can't get into it then stuff builds up and there's so much to write about and writing about one big thing seems daunting then the time since it happened gets longer and longer so you can't remember it so well and you wonder if it's worth writing at all if you still haven't been bothered and who cares anyway because you're just taking up space and if anything it'll just bug people and stuff?
Well. It's been like that.
Had a minor technical situation yesterday. A couple of days ago itunes had an update and I used to ignore them until I had a problem with my itunes because I didn't have the current version, so now I let it update when it tells me to. Well, it wanted to update so I did, then my internet security had some activity saying that it had blocked something and I assumed it was to do with the download so I decided screw it I'll update it another time and quit the download half way through. It cancelled and all seemed fine.
Yesterday I fancied getting a new song that I kept thinking about so I went to buy it and couldn't get into itunes at all, I just got an error message. This freaked me out a bit. It said I had to reinstall itunes. I looked that up on the apple website and it went on about uninstalling itunes first then downloading it again and then it had a bit about your library should be safe but just in case you should have it backed up and I thought what the hell what if I lose all the songs I've bought, it's a small fortune, in my opinion. Also I'm not sure if I'd remember everything that I've got. I've told you before that I have very eclectic taste in music. Not so eclectic it seems, since itunes classifies over half of the songs I have as rock. Which I'm not sure is completely accurate. Bad apple is classified as pop. If anything it should be J-pop, not just pop but still. And I'm not entirely sure that Creature Feature come under rock, do they? Especially since two of their songs are listed as alternative. It makes no sense. Although deletion of my library would have one small bonus. When I first got it and put songs on it I wasn't so confident and I put on two Seether songs from an album that I believe was of a lower audio quality because I can't hear them so well. It's annoying when you just want one song from an album but they've released the same one like three times. You have a regular, and a deluxe and a remixed and stuff like that and one that came with two bonus tracks but only if you bought the complete album and it all gets very confusing. Anyway.
So I was freaking out a bit about all that. Do I uninstall and reinstall or just reinstall. I probably still have everything important maybe halfway through the update was the removal of the old stuff to make way for the new. Maybe not.
In the end I just downloaded itunes again and it all seems fine. It's not like I had to re-register or anything. So. It was all worry over nothing. But to top it all off the song that I wanted to buy isn't in the UK itunes store but apparently is in the US. It came out two years ago, I fail to see why we don't have it yet. But then again there's more to these things than timing. There's probably a lot of stuff about the process that we don't see, a lot of paperwork and such for sale of things in the UK from the US.
So. After all that I didn't get the song I wanted but if I hadn't tried to buy it in the first place then I wouldn't have known there was a problem so there's an up and a downside to the whole thing.
You know. I actually planned to condense my ramblings so I could fill in everything that I haven't written yet. I don't want to write a really long blog because only the most steadfast of readers would read it but I feel that writing little ones seems somehow wasteful. But I sure as hell wouldn't read a super long blog but I'd read a short one.
In short, to be expanded upon in later blogs or not;
We went to my aunt's. I saw the family. I got to see the kids. I gave them each a bag of chocolate coins & other sweets with some little toys. They gorged. Ran around. Possibly infected me with a nasty cold, either them, or their mother, since she was coughing. She bought her boyfriend so we got to meet him (not the father, but the guy she was going out with when I told you about the Family Drama).
One of my other cousins and her boyfriend (who she moved in with a while ago) brought their two young Cavalier King Charles Spaniels so Rosie had some competition this year. They're about 2 and Rosie's about 7-8. She looked so old next to them, waddling about and looking around with sad droopy eyes.
I took a tin of gingerbread men and reindeers, having tried a different recipe using crystallized stem ginger as opposed to ground ginger. Originally I decided not to but I thought screw it I will. Then I wouldn't ice them but I also thought screw it I'll use the premade icing, it'll dry quicker and there's no point doing something fancy anyway, sometimes simple is best. Everyone seemed to like them.
I told you to remind be about tree sweets. Well it's nothing big. I've always liked the idea of candy canes on a tree but I have a problem with mint and they're always mint. I have some plastic decorations but real ones would look nice too I thought.
Well, this year Tesco were selling pink fruit candy canes for kids, with disney princesses or mickey mouse and so on. They were just little card sleeves, when you slid them off you were left with nice individually wrapped pink and white candy canes. i got two packs of four. They looked lovely on the tree. But I didn't want to eat all of them so I gave the kids two each in their treat bag.
We also gave the kids each a book/toy set. The girl got one about an owl afraid of the dark (I read both books, I read that one second, it paled in comparison to the other because it was funny). We gave the boy one about a dinosaur and it was the Dinosaur who pooed a planet. He looked through the book at the pictures but I knew there was no point trying to actually read it to him there and then so I gave him the overview as he flipped through.
Also It was mum's birthday. I got her a book that I managed to keep secret, a calendar she wanted and a cake.
I'll leave it here.
Bluebiird out.
