Never Fear Guard Cat is Here

Much like a comic book super hero my cat bravely, and single-handled defends the neighborhood against the terrors reeked by the vicious gang of local canines that rove the streets.

Ok, that is a slight exaggeration of the situation, in truth there is a pack of lap dogs that have the run of the street, though they really don't cause much trouble and aren't aggressive, but when they do happen to make their way down to my side of the street my cat does enjoy stalking them and chasing after them. I don't know if it is just because of their small size that my cat doesn't register them as being "dogs"/a threat, he never had an encounter with a dog significantly larger than himself so I don't know how he would react to that, (though I did narrowly intercept his attempts to purse a skunk in the backyard) but he is a very adventurous and brave little kitty.

I went out this evening to get ready to lock him in for the night and feed him and I found him hanging out on the front lawn. It was still light out and a bit warm so I figured we could hang out on the lawn together for a while before I brought him in. So I was sitting next to him petting him when I saw him starting to become more agitated, his tail started twitching back and forth and he became more alert, but I could tell by his posture he was not agitated by anything I was doing, but there was something else, but I couldn't figure out what it was, so for the time I kept betting him, and keeping him from running off. Then he starts to growl, and I knew clearly he could see something but from where I was with the cars in the driveway I couldn't see whatever it was, so I was just holding him and watching when one of the dogs from the local gang showed up.

The dog, it was one of those dogs that look like tiny little Dobermans, came trotting up the driveway and my curiosity got the better of my so I let go of my cat to see what he would do, I didn't think they where in any real danger of actually getting into a fight. My cat starts talking across the lawn after the dog who after a while comes back down the driveway and sees the cat the becomes curious about the cat, so the dog stands at the end of the driveway watching the cat, and soon enough my cat gives chase, and the dog takes off and once the dog is running off down the street my cat plops down on the driveway quite pleased with himself.

Haha yeah he is a kick. He has also been known to stalk people walking down the street.
