But at least I can laugh at myself .... heres the dumb thing I did today.
Ive been hacking away at my coursework today. The purpose being to prove I can find relevant resources on any subject...my chosen subject English literature from the long 18th century. Anyway while I was thumbing through the consise companion to the restoration and the eighteenth century (edited by Cynthia Wall). And one of the chapters began:
And my recactions while I was reading... Jane Austin in 1765? but I thought she lived later in the era of napolean..oh well. man she was living with Man she was living with ...uhh Jane Austin...it did say jane austin yes jane austin oh well Ive never read that before makes a note to borrow a copy of the jane austin biography is that why it was so popular??In febuary 1765 Jane Austen found herself in a terrible situation. She had lost her lodging in White Hard Yard when the man she was living with, John Duggin, beat her and threw her out. She was homeless and friendless on the streets of London and was suffering from both the beating and a long-standing chest complaint.
Anyway it carried on in that vain for a while until she dies later that night after being pushed down the stairs by a black man called Micheal Reading. Turns out it was true case of mistaken identity as it were. THis Jane Austin
not being the Austin Austin.![]()
