The Mountains on the Moon

OMG. OMG OMG. Super OMG. Super super OMG.
At times like this my general reaction to cool things has shifted from something like "wow", "woah" or "oh my..." to OMG and the variations listed above.
The moon's been coming out for me to look at the past couple of days. I've been playing around with my different lenses. Still haven't got the hang of the 3x zoom, it's a tricky little thing. We can see the craters with such definition it almost made me cry. I looked at my moon flash card the other day and was excited to think that I'll be seeing the moon mountains soon.
Well, today I think I've seen them. In my opinion they kind of look like a scar on the moon's surface but in reality the craters are the scars, if you think about it. It's so cool.
I've already said how I'm so pleased to be able to confirm that these things exist with my own eyes. This is no exception. For 25 years I've seen a little smooth moon with some darker patches that make a nice texture. To my knowledge I've never been able to see the craters before.
Since I've only seen the surface of the moon in pictures and on TV and those are great but how do you know that's how they really look. photo and video footage is often edited, enhanced, airbrushed and so on to look more impressive. I don't know. It just makes me so happy to see it with my own eyes.
Super super super happy.
Bluebiird out.
