When I Die

Rate this Entry
Hello Everyone!
Good to see You again....I know I have been absent but hope to be writing more.

Here we go ~~~

I’m not trying to be morbid but for some strange reason I thought of this today while I was gardening! Perhaps it was cuz I was digging with my bare hands into the soil….who knows?

When I die I plan on being cremated as I don’t believe the physical body holds any merit; yet at the same time I found myself conjuring up this idea.

I would have my ashes divided up into four glass bottles and sealed air tight so they would float forever. I would request that they be taken out into to the ocean (which ocean I haven’t decided on yet) and each bottle tossed into the sea. However one must be tossed towards the north, one south, one east and one west. My logic behind this is that they would float to the four corners of the world and my spirit would see everything I have missed out on in life.

Perhaps I would have a note placed in each bottle so when it washed up on shore and was found the finder would be curious and break the seal and pry open the bottle. It would be as if leaving a Genie out of the bottle cuz my dust of once being would fill them and the land around my landing with my inner spiritual inheritances. All things would grow in abundance, thoughts would be lively and promising, honesty and goodwill would spread like wild fire. I could make a difference in the four corners of the world!

Now I just have to come up with something to write on the note!

Nice thought, huh?

Just don't use glass. It could break and you wouldn't find but fish.

What a captivating idea! I think you should use glass-plastic is so prosaic! Up to you, however.

Have fun with the note. However charming an idea I find it, I'm not sure I would be too happy to open such a bottle, even if it was you, kittypaws.

You must come from a very primitive concept of glass and plastic, quimissung. There are today tens of materials that you ignore because they don't fit your scope.

It is an interesting concept, and I like the theoretical idea of it, but the piratical environmentalist in me cannot help but be concerned about the prospects of polluting the ocean by throwing either glass or plastic bottles into it.

thanks for your reply cafolini....but no need to be rude to quim. What would you suggest the bottle be made of? As far as it breaking in the open seas I don't know what it could hit to break. But on the other hand if a whale swallowed one of my bottles I would not want it to injure the whale but be strong enuf to withstand the whale's digestion system (which I know nothing about).
    What do you suggest?

hahahaha qimi! But what if the bottle contained magic from my spirit! I'm a pretty bright and sparkling bit of Cosmos.

Dark Muse ~ thank you for your comment. I would hope my four little bottles (of whatever they are made of) would not be enuf to pollute the entire ocean. I do understand your concern about polluting the seas and land thou and stand with you on that.

Perchance my bottles along with their notes will bring inspiration and a new beginning. Hopefully they will not be looked on as ashes but new life.

It all will depend what is written on the note.

I will work on that but in the mean time if anyone has any suggestions.....please feel free to share.

gardening is fertility rebirth and life.
    dying is going away.
I somehow see the two not to link.
a message in a bottle come to mind.

When I die I plan on being cremated as I don’t believe the physical body holds any merit; yet at the same time I found myself conjuring up this idea.
the physical body is part of life without it we won't be here and so its merit is more then anything I can think of.
to be able to walk talk and feel as well as do is to me an incredible thing to be able to do. the body goes beyond any definition. I would not dismiss that easily but that is me
you conjured an idea whilst gardening. it is a contrast between fertility and death and therefore is intriguing. I am never able to think along these lines and so I admire you for it.

this inspired me to say that there is a positive in every negative one finds.
and therefore l will propose this thought:
how would you feel about your body if you knew you were immortal and that you will never die.
death is out of the question.
how would you rethink your idea?
