Day 21

You know. Ever since the year 2000 came around I've been getting pretty sick of the whole "the world's going to end" stuff. It's like every year someone has a theory or indisputable evidence that something's going to happen. It's pretty depressing. Not THAT depressing but a little depressing.
So. Today I got a cracker again and Yuki got a red twisty bone.
I was thinking of doing some baking today.
Well...
We heard the mice in the shopping bags. That's worrying. We haven't heard much from them lately. One jumped out and ran under the oven and we had to poke the bag to shift the other one. It escaped the same way.
We had a little look see at what they were eating. An empty bag.....That can't be all.
We looked deeper and found they'd chewed through another bag.
We had a couple of things in there, including chocolate (I took it out yesterday for fear they'd find it). There was a bottle of conditioner, bin bags, chocolate chips (which amazingly they didn't get) and a bag of plain flour.
You know what they ate?
The bag of flour.
Two holes in either end. Not just holes. Little dips where they've actually been eating it beyond just the paper.
It wasn't even opened and I need a lot of flour if I actually do all of the recipes I want to.
Did you know mice eat flour?
Why did they eat my flour?
Why?
Why?
They're mean mice.
Wild mice seem to eat a lot of grain. I guess it's good for them. Flour is made from grains right? Maybe that's why they went for it.
The last infestation were obsessed with chocolate. These ones aren't really going for it. Although today I discovered that the bag they were eating from that mum thought was a bag of crisps was actually a bag of Werthers Originals. So they do have a sweet tooth.
Anyone know where you can get a UV black light in Greater London? I'd like to have a good look at where they've been. You know mice are incontinent right? I think it'll be a bit like when I was trying to remove that glow in the dark nail varnish. I couldn't see it all properly all of the time so I couldn't get rid of all of it. I'm thinking that mouse urine will be similar to that and I sincerely doubt any mouse urine is safe in a food preparation environment.
So. Not much else to say.
Evil evil mice. Evil.
Bluebiird out.
