The Promised Revival -- To Bring Faith Back Even If It Had Gone To Pleiades (i.e. weakened).

The Broader Meanings of Martyr (Shaheed).

Rate this Entry
Peace be on you. Commonly, the term Martyr (Shaheed) is used for person who gives his or her life for the sake of God. Surely, it is very high status near God and paradise is the abode for such faithful. But there is more to it.

Allah has declared that worship is the very purpose of making of human. Thus, a true believer continues to present his or her life for pleasure of Him. They continue to struggle for goodness and virtue. They value their lives. At the time of Badr (when poor material-less early Muslims were very small in number as compared to well armed strong opponents who came to wipe out the faithful), the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) prayed to Allah that if on that day, the faithful were annihilated then no one would be left to worship Allah. He prayed for their lives and victory…………..But when the it was required at any occasion, they did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives to defend their faith.

At present, there is no religious war but only struggle for personal reforms is to be done, as explained by the ardent devotee of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.), the Promised Messiah Mahdi. His Community is attacked but they are directed not to engage in war.

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said that a person who desires martyrdom with a sincere heart, Allah, the Most High, will include him in the category of Shaheeds even if he dies on his bed.

His ardent devotee, the Promised Messiah (a.s.) says, General public understands the meaning of Shaheed just to be the one who is killed in a battle, or the one who drowns in river, or the one who dies in pestilence, etc. Rather, I say that to restrain the meaning only to these conditions and to limit the meaning to these situations, is beyond the status of a believer. Shaheed actually is the person who attains the power of steadfastness and resolve from God, and no upheaval or shock can shake him or move him from his stand. He bravely faces adversities and difficulties to the point that if, just for the sake of God, he has to give his life, he is given extraordinary resolve, and he presents his head without any sorrow or disapponment………………This word (Shaheed) is extracted from Shahd (honey, honeycomb) too as such people bear intense worship and bear every inconvenience and impropriety in the way of God and become ready to encounter them. They experience a sweetness and pleasentness. As the hony is simile of “…..therein cure for human…..” (16:70) they also are an antidote. One who join their company, are cured of many ailments. [If this status can only be attained through death then how can a person benefit from their company? This also is status of the Shaheed that ones in his company are able to rid of various improprieties. ]…….Shaheed also is of that state and status where human in all his chores sees Allah, the Most High, or at least considers God seeing him. This state is also named Ehsan (goodness, graciousness)………..It is directive of God that you do Adl (Justice) with Him and His creatures. That is to say, pay right of God and right of people. If possible, do more than compulsory. Offer devotion to God as if you see Him. Justice requires such relation with God that it is believed that there is none worthy of love except Him and none worthy of trust like Him since He is the Maker, Owner, Nourisher; grants bounties……..The reality of Shaheed also relates to heart. Siddiq (Truthful) has affinity with Prophet and is second in status to him. Shaheed is the neighbour of Siddiq (Truthful). Prophet carries the superior attributes, that is, he is Siddiq and Shaheed and Salih (Righteous)…….The greatness of Shaheed is this that difficulties, inconveniences and trials elicit such of faith, moral power, and steadfastness that they becomes a sign due to their being extraordinary. The power of faith gives power to actions so much so that when this power of faith develps to its fullest, the believer attains the status of Shaheed as no obstacle hinders him. He will not hesitate or pull back even in giving his life.

The Holy Khalifah (may Allah help him) of Promised Messiah (peace be on him) also mentions Saying of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) which tells that the persons migrating to safeguard truth are Shaheed, rather Siddiq….and…..another Saying tells that the people who migrate from one land to another due to their faith will be with Hadhrat Esa (Jesus, peace be on him) at the same level of Paradise.

Those from Community who migrate due to unbearable conditions at homeland are asked by the Holy Khalifah to be truthfull to the authorities about their asylum cases. The learned world knows their plight and acts favouarbly.

The power of faith at its fullest develops a believer into Shaheed, as philosophy has been explained above. Standards for the faith in the light of Holy Quran are belief in unseen (Allah and related truths), observance of Salaat (Prayer), spending in the way of Allah, “...believe in that which has been revealed to thee, and that which was revealed before thee and they have firm faith in what is yet to come.” (2:4) ; It means belief in previous prophets, Holy Prophet and the promised Messiah Mahdi as well as in Day of Judgement…… A true believer loves Allah above all. Belief also comprises belief in Allah, His angels, Books and all Messengers. Belief also includes: a regard for the Might of Allah, Jihad (Jihad means struggle; now after the advent of Promised Messiah, as per prophecy of Holy Prophet s.a.w., there is no religious war; so only jihad / struggle of conveying divine message to the world and personal reformation continues), migration for His sake, spirit of hearing and obeying, love of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.)…..Progress in these categories of faith will lead to the status of Shaheed, eventhough one dies of natural causes.

In the end, the Holy Khalifah mentioned the sad details of another martyr (the community has been facing persecution by fanatics for long times); his brother was martyred too last month. They are survived by families. They were only two sons of their elderly father who showed utmost patience; he looked upward, supplicated to God: You took both of them. Now take revenge from the cruels. (Amen)
