.... got a cute gingerbread man and Yuki got a green twisty bone. Those seem to be the most common ones and the bigger treats are actually random instead of on Sundays. She doesn't mind though.

Today we got our tree. It's always fun to get the tree. It's always a lot of hassle but always a lot of fun.

You know how I always say that Halloween brings out my dark side? Well Christmas brings out my supper happy fun side. Not that Halloween isn't fun too but Christmas has a lot more attached to it. I secretly put up all the window gel decorations. I was going to do it last night.......this morning. I cleaned the window while mum was walking the dog but started thinking about serial killers and got a little scared to be playing around in the windows at 4am, when it's dark outside with the light on.

I put them up today while mum was upstairs. She wasn't supposed to notice until tomorrow but she suddenly thought about them and looked out of the window. It was still a surprise for her but I hoped it would be a bigger surprise in the morning. Never mind.

It's a lovely tree this year (they're all lovely) and the smell is divine. It doesn't smell like Christmas without the fresh smell of a tree.

When we go to get the tree we also browse the decorations too. I have a vision for this Christmas but I'm keeping it a secret until I've put everything up. But for this vision I've got a collection of coloured baubles. This year I want to go for traditional colours. In my teens I had something of a rebellious phase at Christmas. I wanted there to be more blue decorations. Well, I'm over all that now and I have to admit a lot of blue decorations that have come out since that phase are surprisingly cold and boring. So this year I planned to red, green and a little gold and silver. I couldn't get the deep green I'd been imagining. A more lime green seems to be the in thing this year. I ended up getting 2 boxes with all of my specified colours and purple, pink and blue too. I think they're pretty bright so it should all work out.

I think now I'm old enough to have a sense of nostalgia in regards to Christmas.

I also got some pretty decorations with jingly bells and a pretty big cake tin. Remember I said I planned to bake this Christmas. Well, I'll need somewhere to keep the goods.

I really am excited about Christmas. I'll try to leave enough time to get everything done and have an overall happy Christmas.
