What's Behind Door Number 4?

A Christmas tree again. That's kind of boring but I'll get over it
Yuki got a red and white knot bone. Very fun.
In other news. Still not making cards yet. Blanket needs another 10 patches made to even it out. Custard went down very well. Found some great looking cookie recipes online. If I have time I might bake up a storm for Christmas. Probably won't though. Don't exactly have any decorations up yet except for those tissue balls I made. It's gold tissue paper. It's shiny.
Had this annoying ringing in my ears for two days. For the past week I've noticed my ears ringing when I go to bed and I've been getting worried about tinnitus. Of course, when you go to bed and everything's quiet you do get that sometimes. I've just never thought much about it.
But, since I've been wearing earphones all day since that fateful day mum came home too early I've been worried about the effect on my ears. Now I hear you ask 'Blue. Why do you wear earphones all day anyway?' Well. Partly to be polite but mostly for privacy. I don't want her to listen to all the embarrassing songs I listen to or to know what I watch. I've been doing quite a bit of catch up TV online recently. Also. Do you know how hard it is to concentrate on one thing when someone is watching something else. Neither of us want that hassle so I use earphones. Happiness all round.
So. Two days ago I wondered if my earphone use was just a little excessive so I didn't use them. However when I wasn't using them I heard an annoying ringing. Very quiet but high pitched. It was at just such a frequency that I couldn't be sure if it was real or in my head. Mum, of course, couldn't hear it. But my ears haven't degraded to the point that I hear a noise of that sharpness.
Yesterday, to be sure I covered my ears. If it was tinnitus then I'd hear it with my ears covered surely. But nothing. Of course that's not a very conclusive test. I did notice that the noise was directional and was louder near the TV. So last night, when all else was quiet, I tested this.
Indeed it was a little louder when I got near the TV. I knew it was something electrical. Sometimes an electrical device might emit a high pitched sound at some point. It's not the first time I've encountered it. So, when I was sure, I turned off a plug and it stopped. I turned it on. It started. I turned it off. It stopped.
Mum tried it too and only when she was right next to the plug could she hear anything. But. Conclusive proof that I'm not crazy.
And. The thing that's been driving me mad for two days?
Mum's phone charger.....
Really. I'm not making it up. A phone charger has been driving me mad for two days.
You have no idea how relieved I am that it wasn't in my head.
Bluebird out.
