On the Third day

Santa brought us... I say Santa. It's actually Cadburys and some dog food manufacturer.

A very plain star and another red and white twisty bone.

I think the twisty bones might be the standard filling for Yuki's calendar except for Sundays which seem to be big treats.

Our Christmas shopping has come along. We've got assorted little things for Napoleon. I don't think he'll like any of it but he's hard to please.

A few weeks ago I got a Superman t-shirt. I wanted to go for my usual grey or charcoal. Like I keep saying. It fits his personality (and what little hair he has left). I'm not actually sure about his colour preference which is another reason I go for grey but when he came to show me his snapshots from Canada he was wearing a smurf blue jumper and in the pictures he has a matching smurf blue t-shirt.

Even when I was little he always wore dark or boring coloured jumpers so this was quite a surprise. I was going for grey but mum flatly refused it this year so I decided to do a complete turn and get something bright. So it's a blue t-shirt with Superman's logo. I did wonder if he might get the wrong idea and somehow think it meant that I thought of him as a super hero. It's been about 20 years since I thought something like that. But anyway.

We also got a pocket spirit level. I doubt he'll use it but if an emergency comes up he might and a telescopic torch with a flexible magnetic head. A super tool in my opinion. It should be useful at some point.

The dog also has a few gifts. We have a giant squeaking pig and duck, a little duck and about three other chew toys.

In the family secret Santa I have Hillary (Chi and Usa's mother) still haven't a clue what to get her. I also have to get things for mum. I'm waiting until Saturday when she's going out with some old work friends. It's not like I can sneak out and Christmas shop for her when she's here all day. If I suddenly go out it's super suspicious.
She's still coughing. It'll be a real buzz kill if she's sick over Christmas and I'm highly susceptible to catching it from her and I take longer to get better because I don't take proper medicine (It's nasty).

She tells me that when she was sick her mother used to make egg custard. She's never done that for me but she doesn't know the recipe. There are numerous recipes for it but I've found a nice simple one so I plan to make some for her. Wish me luck because it's my first time trying it and I'm bound to screw up.

Bluebiird out.
