Halls of the Dark Muse

I need to think of something I could keep in a cigarette case (other then the obvious, cigarettes of course) but I have been trying to think of maybe like some kind of candy or something else I could store in a cigarette case, because they make some really nice looking ones, and well I don't smoke, but for the atheistic of it a part of me has always thought it would be cool just to have a cigarette case but of course I have no real use for one.

I was watching The Boardwalk Empire today which is a series about the Prohibition and the early days of Al Capone, and in the opening credits of the show there is this scene in which one of the main characters of the show pulls out this golden cigarette case (of course I would have a silver one) and snaps it open. As someone who is enamored with the past, and loves Film Noir, and the 20's and 40's when people smoked all the time (though I am not saying I support smoking itself) but there is something in that gesture of whipping out a snazzy looking cigarette case and clicking it open that I find to appealing.

So I need to get one and just keep something like gum in it. For a moment I had a thought that I could keep cigarettes in just for other people. If someone should by chance happen to ask me "hey do you have a smoke" then I could just pull it out and offer them one. But cigarettes are so dang expensive, and I think the last time someone has actually asked me if I had a smoke was when I was still in High School.

In unrelated news I went to see the Paranormal Activity 4 movie today, and then coming back home we were stepped at a red light and I just happened to notice a vulture in the sky, which they are pretty common around here, so to see one is no big deal I did not think much of it, and was just enjoying watching it soar around, because of course I love vultures. But then I happened to look up and notice there were several of them circling around, and usually when you see a whole group of them it means they found something good. So I was wondering about that and came to realize that there was actually a mortuary right there. The car was stopped right in front of it. So at first I was like, wow that is really weird and then I look over there are these trees lined along the side of where the mortuary was, and it was packed full of vultures. I have never seen so many gathered together like that before. They were all over the place.

It was kind of eerie, just got out of seeing a horror movie about the paranormal, and then find myself surrounded by vultures that are flocking around a mortuary. And I cannot believe it can be some sort of weird coincidence I think the birds did somehow know that there was death there and were attracted to it.
