Hidden Treasures

I had finally finished the monstrous book this morning, The Autobiography of Henry VIII: With Notes by His Fool, Will Somers: A Novel by Margaret George, which was quite interesting I thought, and after that I decided I wanted to read Club Dumas by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, so I dig it out of the bottom of the stacks of books upon the floor in my bedroom, and whenever I get ready to start a new book I always like to gage about how long the chapters are.

So I am flipping through the first chapter (and almost every book I own is bought used) when I came upon at first what I thought was a photograph, or picture that was part of the book, and than I realized it was a postcard, but still I thought it might have actually been part of the book itself, but soon I realized, that they were detached from the book and apparently something someone else had slipped within.

I withdraw it to realize that it is in fact two, seemingly brand new, unwritten postcards of Thailand.

The stories one could come up with about those postcards are almost endless. But most likely someone just used them as a book mark or wanted to keep them pressed flat and forgot about them. I once saw a guy on the train using a postcard as a bookmark. Not sure if it was blank or not though.
