All the time. I rarely sleep well. I rotate three nightmares on a regular basis. One has the theme of tryhing to leave Grand Forks AFB ND to my next Air Force assignment and I can't finish processing due to a lost parka I need to turn in. A variation of this is not having enough gas to DRIVE to thenext base and still keep track of family. The thurd nightmare has to do with job performance at certain offices I was assigned to and not beign able to gte my clerks to do their work--they are generally not there or doing somethign else. These are all related to my former professiion--being retuired military now and part of the federal drawdown in 1991 which derailed my transition to civilian life to a great degree. I believe that's where it comes from. On the other hand I rarely sleep comfortably. Been going on for years and frankly used to it. When I do sleep well--I feel odd.

    Hi kittypaws,
We all dream, even our pets!!
I have lots of dreams every night, all types just like yourself. Try not to watch any thriller type TV before retiring this I find helps, or play any mind stimulating card or board games.

    A quote to remember is:
"Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be safely insane every night of the week". By DR Charles Fisher.

In other words it is normal to have disturbing dreams, this I believe.

mtpspur....repeating dreams are the worst! Your dreams seem to be filled with un- fulfillment from the lost parka to not having enuf gas to drive to your destination and then the let down from your clerks. Finally the drop down and out of military life to something it sounds like you have not experienced for a long time.

I would suggest you take a break and go do something You excel at....perhaps camping...maybe even gardening....yeah, plant something and nurture it to grow and feed you and yours....that is a sense of accomplishment which I think will help you.

Try planting a vegetable garden ... honesty ....it may give you a sense of fulfillment and if you need any tips on how to keep your thumbs green ~ let me know.

    thank you for replying....

I agree it is healthy to dream and yes my dog, Zeus does run thru fields chasing what ever is in his dog's mind.

I like the quote you left.

and thank you very much for your response...

    All good stuff

Thank oyu Kittypaws. Past week I have been busy inventoring my comics collection with a view to finally putting them online and printed out so I can track collectign better. My idea of fun anyway. You were encouraging. y military career was okay--nothing to write home about but there were certain things I should have done differently. Thanks again.

I get only about five hours, but more from lack of getting to bed on time. I do fall asleep fairly easily when I do put my head down. I don't have dreams usually. When I was having trouble sleeping what I found worked was to put on headphones (I didn't want to keep my wife up) and play some sort of audio book. The human voice just knocks me right out.

So how is your inventory coming alone? Are you going to share some of your comics??

I've been having trouble lately. I do tend to stay up a bit later than I should and I'm erratic about getting exercise.

Have you tried melatonin? It's very natural and non-habit forming, but does give you very vivid dreams-maybe that's a good thing, lol.

Gimissung....perhaps some melatonin and vivid dreams would help my imagination to soar and feed my creative fire.
