Who Falls For This Stuff?

I periodically check my spam folders because sometimes things which are not spam end up there, and sometimes I do it just out of boredom. While I was looking through I saw this thing saying it was from the International Police Association, which of course it wasn't but sometimes these things are just fun to read so I figured I would see what they had to say to me (probably nothing any good).

And it was one of those scams along the lines of the ones those ones you usually get in which some Nigerian Prince wants to give you a lot of money. They were claiming that some Diplomat was taken into custody and just so happened to have a box full of a lot of money (amount of course not specified) and apparently the Diplomat said that it was my money and so I had to get some certificate or something to claim it.

Now the first thing I think of, is wouldn't you know it if some foreign diplomat had a bunch of money for you? Is anyone going to read that and by like really? Some Diplomat I know nothing about has money for me? That sounds very plausible.

Than the second thing that came to my mind is supposing you believe this was true, hey I do not know maybe every Friday night you have diplomats over at your house for gambling parties, if the police are contacting you about a diplomat who was taken into custody and has a box of unmarked bills the first thing that pops into my mind, is sting operation.

Don't contact the police to claim money associated with a foreign diplomat involved in illegal activity, or accused of illegal activity. That is not going to go well for you. You are probably going to get arrested.

It wasn't a gambling party--it was a Get Ready for the Avengers movie costume party preview. Sheesh--as Ben Grimm would say.
