Just Odd

As some of you may already know because I have mentioned it a few times before, I belong to Deviant Art (known as DA for short) which is an online art gallery where members can display their work of any type. I display a lot of my poetry and photography there.
Within DA there are various different groups created by members which than other members can join and submit there art into and a lot of the groups revolve around a certain form of artwork, or particular subject, theme, etc..
I was recently invited to join a group that stated on their group page that they focused upon supernatural dark art (being mostly vampires, werewolves, ghosts that sort of thing) and they state clearly in their rules they do not accept work featuring Murder, Torture, or Human killers.
Yet one of the founders of the group sent me a request asking permission to submit one of my poems within their group that was clearly about a psychopath killer. I even stated in the Artist Comments section that the work was inspired by the Blood & Gore/Slasher gerne of horror.
Now I do not mind if they want my poem in their group, but I was very baffled by the fact that the work they were requesting very clearly went against their own stated rules. I almost felt like sending them a message informing them they were breaking their own rules.
I just cannot wrap my mind around what they were thinking or what their justification was when they asked to have that particular work within their group.
Not to mention it sends mixed message for knowing in the further what work would or would not be appropriate to submit into their group.
