My Tainted Love

Well it comes as no surprise to me that I am demented though sometimes I do surprise myself with just how truly disturbed I am. As some of you may be aware I am fascinated by the dark aspects of love, the love-hate dynamic, obsession, all of that good stuff, which often a lot of my poetry tends to revolve around.
I have a play list on my itunes called "Obsession" in which I collect stalker songs, of which not surprisingly I am a big fan of, and other songs of similar nature. To give an example one of perhaps the most well known is "Every Breath You Take" by Sting. And me and my sister got on the subject of talking about songs of this nature becasue I guess at one point she acutally started a similar sort of list and so she started telling me of these songs of which she knew about it.
Well there is this song by Depeche Mode "It's No Good" that I have always really liked, and I use to just think of it as being this very romantic song but than after having this conversation with my sister and the more I began to think about it, the more I realized that "It's No Good" ( I know the title itself should have been a hint) is in fact about a stalker. And when I listen to the song again, the disturbing elements of it became quite obvious, but I use to always think of it as being this very touching song.
Than I found out the same thing about Hungry Like the Wolf, by Duran Duran. That is one of my favorite songs, but I never once had any inkling of it as being a song about a stalker, I always thought of is as being a passionate love song. Than I found it on lists of Top 10 Stalker Songs, or Top Ten Creepy Love Songs.
And in my mind all the times I listened to the song the idea that this man is hunting down this woman in a predatory fashion never struck me as being creepy. In my mind it was just like isn't that sweet, he has such a passionate love/lust for this woman that he is determined to track her done no matter what.
So yes, apparently I have very twisted ideas about romance, though that does not come much as a surprise to anyone who knows me.
