Halls of the Dark Muse

Kinda Strange

Rate this Entry
I was out taking my walk, when I saw this guy walking by with his dog and I just casually happened to glance over in his direction, there was nothing about him which looked familiar to me. I don't think I have seen him before or know him, and at the same time I glanced over towards him he happened to look in my direction as well being there were not that many other people around it was hard not to notice each other.

So at first it was like ok whatever, and we were walking on parallel paths. There was a paved path which he was on and leading up to the paved path was a little dirt path that runs along side the paved path for a while before just dispersing in a field. And I was on the dirt path and we were walking in opposite directions of each other.

I continue on with my walk and I am listening to my music and just glancing around and happened to glanced back in his direction and I noticed that turned to look back at me again, and than I thought that is kind of strange becasue I was just genreally looking around but he seemed to be specially looking at me. This made me start to think, do I know him form somewhere? So I was than made curious and I looked back at him to try and see if there was anything familair about him and several differnet times he kept looking back at me, but he did not say anything or make any gesture of sign of acknowledgement, he didn't so much as nod his head at me, he jut kept looking back at me.

Eventually he walks past me but I am like totally baffled and curious so as I keep walking forward I happen to look back over my shoulder towards him and like three different times he turned his head back and looked over his shoulder at me and than eventually we just moved out of each others line of vision.

Freaky...makes you want to carry mace.

I get into those situations quite often. I will look at someone because they look vaguely familiar, then they look at me right as I look away, so I look back right as they look away and it continues until one of us either smiles, says something, or passes out of view.

Maybe that is what happened. When I happened to just look in his direction the 2nd time he thought I was actually looking at him and than we were both just trying to figure out why the other was looking at us.

Possibly, or he might have also been being creepy! Either way, mace and a taser wouldn't hurt.

Yes I had considered that possibility. I use to carry a knife, though I never acutally really feel unsafe when I am out, mostly I used to do it becasue I thought it was cool. And I also use to have a big dog, whom those of friendly nature, intimidated most people becasue he looked like a wolf.

If you live in a small town and everyone looks familiar, it's the unfamiliar people who stick out. Perhaps he's been around for as long as you and already seen everyone there is to see years ago - suddenly, hey, a new face!

Or, he's thinking why does she keep looking at me. I'm not bothering her. I'm walking my dog on a public walkway minding my own business. I don't need this stress!

Or, he's thinking 'Please like me. I have a nice friendly pooch. See I'm not a bad person, and this puppy is my proof.'

Or, he keeps looking at you because you keep looking at him. It's okay for you to be suspicious, but not the other way round? It is true that you should be more suspicious of him statistically, but there is still a minor statistic that he should be suspicious of you (though why anyone would need to be suspicious of someone walking away in the opposite direction is odd).

Or maybe he thought you were the most amazing thing he's ever seen in his life?

Perhaps get one of those high pitched personal alarms to put on your keyring just in case...

I suspect he was looking at you 'cause you were looking at him.

It never hurts to have a little pepper spray or mace on hand just in case, though!

Qimi's probably right, but it is freaky to feel that way- whatever was really happening.

I did not acutally say that I was suspicious, I just said that I found it to be kind of strange becasue I could not figure out why he kept looking at me.

But I am generally suspicious of everyone (though not in a truly paranoid way) I don't really fear that I am acutally threatened or endangered by other people but if someone I don't know so much as says hi to me I am thinking "Why would they do that? What is wrong with them?"

I am just highly anti-social and don't like interaction with other people.
