Summer's nearly gone and i'm still not ready for another hectic schedule.
I was on the road 2 days ago with 15 of my friends, we went star sighting and observing. It was such a GORGEOUS sky!!!! we took tons of pictures which i'll post in a day or two, it was just so much...different. There you are in the middle of nowhere 6 hours away from your town not a single light on nor a single car passing by, no TV or computer or even mobile connections.
Just the stars twinkling above your head and of course the -20 deg. of cold blazing wind.
We were up the whole night and this time not a single person left to sleep in the bus (except for the driver himself).that was a first. And of course the first time that there was absoloutly no clouds in the sky to block the view!
We had to leave at 5 a.m but somehow no one wanted to get on the bus until the driver started the bus and we all panikcked and got in!

Even after two days you can't function properly, and it feels like your still somewhere out in the desert all alone searching for something you've lost a long time ago.

Anyway,enough rambling...still got a life to live.

Did you see that twinkling planet made of diamond?

Sounds great Babe - except maybe the wind - I know the city can take readjusting and the skies just aren't what they are in the country. It's rare to see shooting stars here, but out there there's one every few hours

(I love the new background by the way
    )

I don't recall seeing that (....maybe it sliped my view!!!!!!!

We saw tons of shooting stars, I'm suprised you said there's only one every few hours though, cause i saw over 6 of them in ....how many hours?...around 9.

Yeah, i hate the city lights for what they do at night...why can't the whole city just run out of electricity at night and then begin at morning again?????????

The Background is the Andromeda Galaxy' stars!!!!!!! aren't they lovely????

Andromeda! Of course! I thought it looked familiar!

I think the amount you see is dependent on climactic conditions, sometimes none, but once I was lucky enough to see a meteor shower and there were thousands - raining stars if you can imagine

I know the city light effect I take pictures from my back yard, then superimpose them to get the effect of skies as I remember them - but it's only an effect

WOW!!! I LOVE to see a meteor shower!!!! That's on my to-see list in life along with 1,000,000,000 other things to see

You can't even see the brightest star (sirius, did i spell it correcty?) from where i live..you have to at least get in the car and drive for about 4 hours to get away from the city lights. But that's impossible for me since
    1. I have no drivers licence
    2. I have no car.

So, that option's out the window!
