Halls of the Dark Muse

I Am Animal

I embrace the purity
of my naked body
and shamelessly
awaken the flower
of sensuality
which blossoms
within me.

The pleasures
of the flesh
is a Goddess given
gift, to draw us
closer to the divine
within the unity
of two bodies
in passions
throes.

It is an act
of innocence
to be as nature
intended and live
free with our inner
desires, not to be
shunned as a
curse.

I gaze deep
within my soul
to the darkness therein lies
but I do not shudder
in fear and guilt
but I see its beauty
for this too is human
and Goddess given.

Let us rejoice
and live in harmony
with ourselves
and embrace in gratitude
the kinship shared
between our fellow
beasts, who walked
this earth first
to teach us their own
ways.
