A while back I wrote about a dog that lived near my friends house, a young female named Molly. Her owner treated her poorly and we tried to contact the people who have the power to do something about animal cruelty and nobody wanted to do anything. This was last winter around Christmas. she had no meat on her bones, they often gave her cat food (don't know why) and she was tied inside a shed where she lay in her own urine and worse. My friend saw her again this summer and said her condition was worse than before, we were even scared that she was beyond help and was just crazy and might do something like bite for no reason,and really who would blame her after what she had been through. Another friend of mine had recently started volunteering in a cat shelter and she told me they had a lawyer who tried to help animals in need. I asked her to talk to him and we gave him the address and a description of her condition. he talked to the dog catcher and he said it was even worse. this lawyer decided to see her and was so appalled by everything that he took her. Even though he knew I was willing to take her he felt such a bond with her that he decided to keep her and I don't think anyone is better suited for the job. this was 3 weeks ago and she looks better already. Now he is getting it on the news to make people see that we need laws about animal cruelty ( we have very lame laws on the subject) and that people need to be willing to do something about it. He took her illegally because the people who have the power are not willing to do this part of their job!! hopefully this will bring some good changes for the animal community here on the ice! I am just so happy that Molly is safe.

in other animal news my ex asked me to take Sisko back, he is trying to find a new home for him and asked me to have him until he finds one. I love Sisko and I am wondering if I should keep him myself now that I know I won't get Molly (I was kinda always waiting for her to be saved) but I don't really know what to do because Spock and Sisko are just OK together, Spock is not totally happy about it but I will see. I'll try for a while to see how it works out.

    Some people are terrible to animals. We're lcky in the UK as we have the RSPCA, (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), which will investigate any case of cruelty, and will prosecute people who mistreat animals.

    It's good that it was sorted.

    One of the reasons I stopped working at the CSPCA is that it kind of wears you out to see the same cases of cruelty week after week. Especially when a puppy mill would get busted and we'd end up with 30 abused and starving animals all at once. It's just draining.

    Hope they throw that jerk in jail. Anyone that is cruel to animals is probably lacking part of a heart. I wouldn't trust him around humans either.

    I'm so glad that Molly is at last safe. I'm sorry you all had to work so hard to rescue her. It shouldn't be that hard.

    I know you'll make a good decision concerning Sisko. At least they are OK together; does either one of them bully the other?

    if sisko is bored he bullies spock until he fight back and that is just what sisko wants a little fight, we'll see maybe with more exercise he calms down
