Something Else

Heh, very strange title. There's tons of things I've been thinking of writing about. It's odd that I'm going with this. I was going to post a third instalment of the glass box thing with additional notes to make things clearer, but I got over my bad mood by the time I got up, so I just didn't want to. Apologies to anyone kind enough to read all that, I haven't read through it since I wrote it. I'm thinking of getting rid of it, since even I don't want to read it. Like all things it'll depend on my mood. What else have I been wanting to mention? Yuki had her first trip to the vet last week, he gave us some ear drops because her hears looked a bit too waxy (it's odd for huskies to get ear problems because they have sticky-up ears with better air circulation than floppy eared dogs). Since her previous owner couldn't find Yuki's vet book we had to get our vets to converse and trade details. It took a week for our vet to get an answer from the other vet (fair enough, since the dog has changed owners and name). Her last vaccination was in 2009. Not good. Her last visit to her old vet was 2010 for worming. Well, since we've had Yuki we've frontlined and drontaled her. We've been wanting to do that since we got her but we needed to know her weight and we didn't want to take her to the vet without her information so we went to a local Pets at Home where they have a little veterinary service and scales to weigh the dog. I can't remember now but I'm pretty sure she came in at 21.6 which we're told is actually an ideal weight for a husky her age. Frontline is for fleas and ticks and Drontal for worms. Actually, she needs frontlining today. We would've done it yesterday but since her information came in on Friday we took her for her jabs. She had one yesterday and is due her second in 2-4 weeks. We didn't want to frontline her just after she was jabbed just in case, so we're doing it today. I also thought of writing about her new collar. I put a lot of thought into it and figured that a black collar would be best. Black with perhaps a little silver trim. Now if Yui had black fur I'd have suggested a red collar, I think it goes well, but Yui's grey. She's classified as sable but I've looked it up and she doesn't quite seem like the sable dogs in the pictures, more wolf grey. Actually, maybe she isn't grey. She's kind of black grey and white/creamy coloured I'd say. But her undercoat is white/cream. Ah well, never mind. We ended up getting her a nice black collar with silver bone shaped studs and we had a little blue bone tag made with our name and number, since mum doesn't think you should put the animal's name or your address on the tag. I was a little worried about it because last time she had a collar she escaped. But this time we took her to try collars on and found she has more of a medium neck than a large. The fur is confusing with huskies, makes their necks look fatter than they really are. When we put the collar on her Yui was excited to go out, we think she wanted to show it off to someone. Hey, who knows what a dog thinks.
I also thought of writing about my admiration of comic book characters. Though I must confess I've never read a real comic book. But I've always loved the cartoons on Saturday mornings that sprang from the books and I love most of the films. I've always wanted to start up reading and probably collecting comic books but there were some issues. Firstly I didn't have money when I first started thinking this. Second there aren't really any shops round here to buy them from. Thirdly I want to know the stories from the start, meaning I wouldn't want to suddenly jump in at something like issue 197 and pick things up from there, I'd want to go back to the very beginning and read the story from, well, the beginning. The idea of trying to get a first edition of anything seems pretty tedious but I'd probably want mint condition too because I'm fussy like that and when it comes to first edition mint condition-ed-ness it's always portrayed as a very big thing. Anyway, it's not so bad. In the end I got into anime and manga instead and I have a huge tower of manga right next to my bed (I need to get a book shelf, it looks so wobbly now I actually fear for my life).
Anyway. Those are the things I've wanted to write about but never did, until now. Haha.
Bluebiird out.
