No, I do not think that it is insensitive that before posting a quote from 18th century I did not first research to make sure no one was recently beheaded.

And even if I had heard of this story prior I do not think posting it would be insenstive, becasue it is just a fun quote and obviously my posting it has nothing to do with that.

An interesting, link, Fifth. I find it hard to believe someone didn't manage to stop him before he finished the, um, task. It's not exactly easy to cut off a head, after all. Although I don't know that from personal experience, of course.
