My cats magic tricks or sleep deprived hallucinations

Because it has started raining here a lot lately my cat Zeo has been more willing to allow himself to be brought in to the garage at night, though he still does not like it and makes his protests against it.
Well a couple nights ago he was closed in for the night when he started having one of his fits in which he begins to attack the door that goes from the house to the garage, but usually if you go out there and give him some attention he will calm down for the night. So I was just getting ready to go to bed when I could hear him acting up so I decried to pop out into the garage and see him for a while. Well while I was out there with him I suddenly noticed that his left eye was a different color than his other eye (and it never use to be before) both his eyes had always been a yellow-green color, but now his left eye had a more brownish-red color. To say the least I was quite baffled by this and a little freaked out. At first I thought maybe he had some sort of irritation or something wrong with his eye so I picked him up to get a closer look but there was no sign of anything actually bring wrong. It was not runny, or watery, there was no visible sign of anything being wrong. It looked like perfectly normal healthy eye, it just happened to be a different color than it used to be.
To say the least now I was left quite puzzled by this and trying to figure out what could possibly be the cause so I took my lap top to bed with me and popped it open to try and do some research and see if I could find anything. At first I found several web sites talking about how changes in the cats eye color could be the sign of serious illness but when I read further, it was talking about this particular infection of the eye which can be linked to different health problems, but when I looked up pictures of it looked nothing like my cat, because in the photos the eye infection affected the entire eye, and clearly looked like something was wrong, the whites of the eye were red and the pupils clouded over. So that did not match what I noticed in my cat. Than I found one web site with a veterinarian who said that as cats get older sometimes their eyes might change color and as long as the eye looks normal, and there are no other changes with the eye than it really is not something to worry about.
Well eventually I had to give up because I could not find any other real information that related to what I noticed in my cat. I go to bed, and in the morning I go to check my cat, and his eye is back to being its normal color again, which I thought was really strange. So I checked his eyes, and I kept thinking that it looked to me as if his left eye looked kind of blurry, and was not as clear as his other eye, but it was not very distinct, and I was not even certain if it really was different or if I was just imagining things. I was debating about if I should take him to the vet just to make sure that nothing was wrong.
But than when I checked him again yesterday night and again today his eye looked perfectly normal and fine and clear to me, with no indication of anything being wrong or different. So I have no idea, if in fact the color change was some how just a trick of the way the light was reflecting because the garage was dark and the lighting is pretty dim (though I don't know why only one eye would appear different if it was a reflection) or if I was just imagining things (though that seems hard to believe) but it was all very strange, so for now I will just keep an eye on it (no pun intended) and make sure I don't noticing any changes or anything being wrong.
Maybe that cat did have some sort of irritation or infection or something and it just cleared itself up on its own.
