Applying for colleges

Rate this Entry
Applying for colleges as a mature student is tricky and terrifying. I really, really, really, really want to get in. I'm applying to Seneca, Humber, and Sheridan for journalism! Very uber exciting. My dream job is to work for National Geographic- travel, culture, outdoors and writing, all rolled into one! And getting paid for it!

Can I balance a job that will pay for rent, vehicle, horse, and food, and a full time school schedule?

Stay tuned.

Oh, wait- if I even get accepted. I don't have to worry until then.

That's fabulous Becca. I wish you the very best. And don't give up if any initial setback.

Good luck! Not that you'll need it.

I hope Sheriden, Humber or Seneca know what they're letting themselves in for.

Thanks, guys! I have to provide marks from the high school I DID complete (and my marks were very, very good) and then I have to go in and write an English exam to qualify as a mature student, and write an essay to provide an example of my writing. Eek! I feel pretty confident, other than the fact that they are all competitive programs, and I am behind the field as a mature student...

You say you have to write and essay! That's it then...you're done for..Not...That will probably seal the deal.

Good luck. I really liked college, and your dream job sounds like a lot of fun. You are quite talented and I know you'll be excellent at it.
