It has been a while but I got to go to one of my favorite bookstores today, so I loaded up on a bunch of new books, becasue it is not as if I don't already have too many that I haven't read yet.

Robinson Crusoe ~ Daniel Defoe

Under Westren Eyes ~ Joseph Conrad (This one was going out on a limb a little bit, and it helped that it was really cheap, because right now my relationship with Conrad is tenuous)

The American ~ Henry James

I, Michelangelo, Sculptor ~ Irving Stone(My reading of The Agony and the Ecstasy got me on an Iriving Stone kick, and I do love art history and books which revolve around art in some way)

Pan ~ Knut Hamsun

Ulyssess ~ James Joyce (So I finally broke down and got this one becasue apperently I wanted to be tortued some more)

Tea ~ Stacey D'erasmo

Wide Saragasso Sea ~ Jean Rhys (I was really excited about this one becasue I have been wanting to read it for a while but it was really difficult to find anywhere)

Corelli's Mandolin ~ Louis De Bernieres

Labyrinth ~ Kate Mosse

    Those are some good books, DM. Labyrinth looks good, Corelli's Mandolin, maybe The Wide Sargasso Sea (love the title), and Tea.

    Tea and Labyrinth were books I picked up on just a fluke. I happened to spot them in the book store without having heard anything previous about them, and thought they sounded intriguing. Labyrinth sounds like the sort of thing that would be right up my ally.

    Corelli's Mandolin I had recommended to me here on lit net. I beleive it came up when I was putting together Lit Nets 100 Best Books list.

    It's a good list DM. Pan by Knut Hamsun is an interesting read. One of his best, though Hunger is doubtless the most striking of his works (of the ones I've read anyway). I hope you enjoy it. Captain Corelli's Mandolin I loved, though I haven't read it for a while. Louis de Bernieres is a pretty interesting writer, though again I enjoyed his Cochadebajo de los Gatos trilogy better (The War of Don Emmanuel's Nether Parts, Sinor Vivo and the Coca Lord (my fave!) and The Troublesome Offspring of Cardinal Guzman). de Bernieres plays with a lot of characters. It's easy to lose track.
