I use to love to watch AMC for the classical movies that it aired. Particularly I would like to put on AMC to watch while I was eating lunch during the day because the truth is that while I enjoyed the movies they played there are movies that I often probably would not think to acutally go out and rent or watch otherwise, but over the years its seems AMC began to decline in its choice of movies. It would either air more and more contemporary films, or just replay the same movies over and over again, yet, on the flip side it is starting to develop into a maker of brilliant tv series.
The original tv shows which AMC produces are truly masterful works, and it can be seen how much effort, talent and skill is put into producing the shows from every aspect. A strong, original, artistic, innovative plot, great acting, well made from a technical stand point. They truly are tv shows made with movie quality.
While I could not really get drawn into the Mad Men phenomenon, I cannot deny how well the shows are made, and I love Breaking Bad, and really into Rubicon.
And now, they have made a new show after my own heart, or nearly so. As my official Halloween plans took place the week before Halloween, I spent Halloween night watching the premiere of Walking Dead.
Though I do not consider myself to be a zombie person persae, being a lover of all things horror I appreciate that zombies are an important subgenre of horror, and so I cannot deny whenever there is a new zombie movie made, I will be there.
So what could be better than a tv series made about zombies and by such great makers of tv shows, and it did not disappoint.
Though I felt that the begining of the show seemed a bit like a rip off of 28 Days Later (which is the best zombie movie ever made in my opinion) there were still some significant differences, and Walking Dead does have a great creepy factor to it, and some pretty cool special effects. I look forward to the continuation of the series.
