To Portland

As a native New Yorker it has always been slightly annoying to me that I have never seen the city. As if in some way an important part of my heritage had gone unaccomplished. Even the knowledge that DC Comics and MArvel have their headquarters there has never been quite the lure you would think.
I have spent almost 12 years in North Dakota that has been chronciled rather extensively in blogs from long ago if one cares to research to see where some the the blessing s and nightmares originated from.
California has seen my presence as well and I think I have touched a life or two there as well as also the most important event that changed literally the course of my life -- my coming to a belief in the Lord Christ as Savior and we're working on the details of Lordship truth must ever be acknowledged.
By by this time tomorrow I shall be in Portland Oregon to attend the wedding of second son Dan and his chosen one Heather. For the record SHE asked him out. I am careful not to tell her that many a lady did that to him over the years. It is always amusing when people see Dan and I together at the reaction to his very good looks springing from such an unliskely source. I assure people that HIS children will end up looking like me and the world shall be back in harmony poor child. I hope to work on esteem issues when needed.
Hopefully if all goes well I shall be back Monday and perhaps blogging the wedding Tuesday. Poor dan will be flying in himself late Friday, married Saturday and flying out Sunday. This will be a whirlwind of a visit.
With a surprise guest star--my old friend Jerry hopes to meet up with us Sunday. Too bad Dan won't be able to see him. I had to promise Jerry NOT to remind Dan of him as Jerry was hoping to be invited - but you know how it goes. It was a promose I very much wanted to break but I try very hard to keep my pledged word though there has been notable failures--rare I hope but they exist.
Soo--to be continued. The plane leaves 6 am later today.
