Matthew Henry's Commentary to the Bible is going very very slowly this seocnd go-round. My stted desire to read only when I'm feeling spiritual is not working out well. Perhaps I should try reading it when I desire chocolate or marriage benefits.

For grins I tried reading online here. Annoyed Edgar Wallace's Four Just Men isn't posted as all the pulp historians refer to it when discussing the evolution of detective fiction.

I get through two chapters of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and feel my age. Hyde isn't scary anymore and even as a pre-teen thought he was overrated.

Moved on to A Study in Scarlet and breathed a sigh of relief. Holmes STILL holds up unlike almost any Tarzan novel past Tarzan at the Earth's Core (#13). Personal favorite there will be always Tarzan and the City of Gold mostly because of that very troubled Queen Nemone. I've known ladies like her and after 30 years stil keep expecting a certain lady from Hamilton OH to discover I'm within a kill shot. I believe I flatter myself.

In the midst of all this reread a biography of Dashieel Hammett and still shke my head sadly at a very complex talented man who pretty much lost it all.

Anyway short blog just to get back into practice.
