Young spring my lad,
present not a rose but a watermelon
to your darling.

It's so unromantic!
You may question!

Is there any blazing love on earth redder
than the luscious flesh?
What can mirror better a gentle green hand by love
than the green skin?
Which is handier to quench parching thirst
in summer?

And how about those myriad undesirable seeds?
You may still wonder!

Aye!
If there is a fruitful token,
then they are the numerous offsprings
from your love.

What a wonderfully naughty idea! A watermelon instead of rose. But I think before giving the present one must keep a helmet handy. Who knows what would be the result?

Certainly not my dear! I like watermelon, good to look at and good to eat. A real treat in summer.
