Just a slight grammatical correction, I think the second to last line should just be a present participle phrase: "With ape calls still echoing from both banks". Otherwise you have a run on sentence. And I'm not sure why you have the apostrophe on apes' and why it's plural.

I meant to write:

While apes’ calls are still echoing from both banks,

or

With apes' calls still echong from both banks,

This is a classic and classical Chinese poem we have to study and learn by heart when in school.

Like I said it's beautiful. I would love to get a book of all these poems, in translation of course. There is much to learn from them.

You know, if you are translating a poem, you should attribute the original poet or at least label it "Anomyous from the Xth century", whatever century it's from, if known. You should make that clear, especially if the poet is known. And then you can say, translated by Angliholic.

It's a bit troublesome for me to do as you suggested because I have to translate the poets names into English also and check out the time when they were born. After all, I translate them for fun and for practicing my English.
