Soul

I have often wondered about this. People always say I am an old soul. Th explanation why when I ask for one is always the same, I don't listen to the same music as people my age, I have different interest, I talk different and a few more. OK I except that I am an old soul, I usually think of myself as an old man smoking a pipe writing or reading and maybe drinking whisky (even though I have never tried that last one). My friends have always said that I use words they don't use and maybe don't really know, and once when I left my friends house her boyfriend said that it was like having his grandma visiting (because of the words I use not that I nag!). But my wondering is why dosen't anybody say 'you are a young soul' it seems to me that people look at it in a negative way but to me it would be positive. an old soul is someone who has done it all and is just tired, dosen't want to get mixed in political issues and gives the other cheek instead of fighting for what you think is right (no matter if it is or not). A young soul has so much left to do and try that the old one dosen't even think about anymore. I don't think neither is negative, I am comfortable with what I am and what I'm doing at my speed but someone else might want to achieve more and do more. don't we need both kinds in our society?.

I would like to meet someone proud of being a young or a middle aged soul.

this is also a strange subject because most of the people who say this don't believe in reincarnation. I don't know if I do or not but I did once get hypnotized to see if I remembered a 'past life' and I did get some striking images but how do I know if it's of a real past life or just something in my head. I even wrote a short story about the 'experience' or what I should call these images of one of those life's. one thing odd, according to them I have never been a girl before, maybe that is why I don't wear make up and go shopping for clothes....

Cool, Helga. What an interesting experience! I bet that made a great story, too.

I think a young soul gets the designation "free spirit." And to me an "old soul" is someone young who sees the world with preternaturally wise eyes.

This is a strange subject. Now you got me thinking whether i'm an old soul, middle aged soul, or a young soul. Well, I do get involved in politics and i don't exactly turn the other cheek. So am I a young soul? But I do consider myself having a sort of old wisdom (humor me, at least I think I do ), so am i an old soul?

All I can say is that i found this blog interesting. You're a charming young (old?) lady.

If you'd ask me - I'm 90! You grow old when you start taking care of yourself, I think. 'Old' is more experience, more knowledge, more wisdom. It's actually cool! And, talking about the soul style, I've never been the 'shoppingcrazy-mustwearmakeup' kind of girl either; always felt better with trousers on. It's much more comfortable when you have to go by bike somewhere
