Tainted Love

Tainted Love

How sweet you were once my love
but your heart was a tarnished dove
now my dear it is time to let you go
no longer fooled by your eyes like a doe
drink now of your bitter wine
for no longer will I call you mine
I feel nothing as I wish you good-bye
only smile while watching for you to die
you poisoned my heart that once was true
so you now will drink every drop that is your due
almost I wish I could shed a tear
but instead I only take delight
watching in your eyes the fading light
a toast mi amore to the love inside me you killed.

Thank you for the interesting insight, in part becasue of certain experinces of my own, as well as certain traits of my own, I find stories like that to be quite fascinating. Exploring the borerline of love, and the way it can slip over the edge into the deep end, and its darker asepcts is somethign which I bring into a lot of my poetry and writing.

Yes... That's one reason I do enjoy my time alone. :)

It's nice D-M, but I think the rhyme gets in the way.
