I don't know how much heart I even have for this...

The insanity of collective humanity...

Compared with the uminaginable beauty of the species of life on earth...

PLEASE STOP..

Drilling 18,000 feet of rock, below 5,000 of water, to get at a resource, is insane. For several reasons.

1) Conserve -

Conserve it until we (as a species, or as a planet) really need it! - perhaps some centuries into the future, if there is a crisis.

Well - that's the best reason...

Just please stop... I would give my life in an instant if it would change the course of humanity... I know that no one individually can stop the insanity of it... but also every individual is a part of the whole...

I am at peace... I will always be... but this is seriously wrong.





I guess the main thing is - the oil we drill is an incredible, unbelievable valuable resource, which took millions upon millions of years to produce. What is the best thing to do with something unimaginably useful? Use it carefully? Or waste it all as quickly as possible?



I just hate to see the collective humanity acting like a crack-addict.

    I cannot agree more with the way you feel about it. The way we are going is incredibly insane but when have human beings not acted insane? Not just insane but selfish and insane. Well you're thinking this way so lets hope more of us do the same... maybe things will change. We can at least hope they would.

    It does feel a bit like the entire world has gone insane, but it seems to have been doing so for a very long time.

    The other day I heard a replay on cbc of some guy on an American radio show say "I don't know what the big deal about the oil spill is all about... oil is NATURAL, the earth made it just like it made the ocean; the earth will clean up the oil spill on it's own if it's left alone."

    Wtf?

    That's a sad state for that guy to be in, Juniper, for sure. I do think their mentality is on the decrease, though. At least I hope. :p
