Well, we couldn't get any plant food for Mi-chan. We could've got indoor plant food but Mi-chan isn't a normal indoor plant, it's a bonsai so do they require different food. We're planning to visit a nearby hive of garden centers who might have appropriate food for bonsais.
In other news, I hurt my wrist a few days ago. Nothing serious, just strained it a bit I think, too much time on the PC and making pieces for modular origami doesn't help, that puts considerable strain on it. I spent 2-3 days with a scarf wrapped around it on and off and occasionally improvised a sling from another scarf to hold it up, it felt better when I held it up to my chest. It's better now but not 100%, however, I'm back to my old activities but trying to be a bit more careful with it. I've started another new anime, Soul Eater, mainly because I felt like it and because last year at the October expo (Still need to write that up, I haven't forgotten) I saw someone cosplaying as Death the Kid (see picture below)
And had no idea who he was which bugs be at these things, (it's bad enough that it's always full of Final Fantasy cosplayers and I've no idea who they're supposed to be, I'm at a disadvantage having never played any of the games) but I had a vague idea of what he was from and left it at that. Now I’ve decided to watch it and good thing too, because at the same expo I saw someone cosplaying as this
And none of us could guess what it was. It’s called Excalibur and he's the most annoying thing ever. No one can stand to be around him for too long. Kind of cute though, isn’t he.
Speaking of the expo, the next one’s in just under 2 weeks and I decided to cosplay as a cat maid. Not from anything in particular, just a generic cat maid, I won’t pretend to be from anything. (I have very strict personal rules on how I think cosplayers should be. I’m not keen on bad cosplayers which is why I can’t cosplay as an actual character, there’s no one I can comfortably cosplay as so I’m going as a generic cat maid.) I’ve tried to convince the others to go as cat maids with me, I’ve even tried to start a trend of cat butlers (I’ve no doubt fangirls would adore it.) I got the tail and ears for my birthday and I have 2 kinds of shoe to choose from (One with and one without heels, think I’ll go for without, otherwise my feet will get shredded) Now I have an appropriate style dress (I’ve been very picky about it, there’s plenty of sexy French maid costumes. Those I avoid like the plague but I didn’t exactly want a stiff Victorian style either, it’ll probably get hot and I don’t want to drown in my costume) The final result, mainly out of desperation seeing as we’ve only got just over a week now (about a week and a half) I agreed to a Dorothy dress (as in Wizard of Oz) that we plan to adjust (Dye it black for starters) I’ve no doubt the result will not be what I was expecting but I think I’ll be able to live with it.
In other news, you may remember I was worried about Shang, the Christmas tree, well his branches are dry, but mum assures me that she does water him regularly when she feeds the birds and now he has some little shoots. And (I was deliberately saving this for last) Mi-chan has two tiny little shoots. I spotted some very tiny green bits last week but didn’t want to say anything until I was sure. It could've just been the last remnants of green drying up but mum told me this morning that they’ve grown a little and they are shots. Well done Mi-chan, try your best. In related news Chibi has lost half of his leaves, I’m concerned but there’s a new branch with some healthy growth so we’ll see how it goes. In Tesco on Sunday I took a look at the bonsais and I saw what Mi-chan should look like. The contrast is amazing. It has leaves bigger, greener and broader than Hoshi (who currently has the best leaves) and the little flowers had a kind of pinky colour (Mi-Chan’s leaves are dry green and shriveled beyond recognition and the little flowers are dry grey and lifeless) I predict that it could take 4 years to make Mi-chan look like that healthy tree (I say 4 years because it’s 4 years old when they sell it and since Mi-chan is practically starting again I know it’ll take him a while to recover). Hang in there Mi-chan.
