(Don't want to get banned for bad language so, contains some swearing.

The idea behind this huge space it that it doesn't show up on the blog homepage, hopefully. Don't want anyone to read them if they don't want to.

Okay, that doesn't work so let's play around with this.

Bugger bugger bugger damnit **** arse crap! I’ve fallen prey to our nemesis, writers block. It’s been there since yesterday evening. I’ve spent a whole day trying to continue my novel and bugger all. Damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit damnit!!!!!!!!
No reason for posting this. I just wanted to vent. Thanks for reading.

    I have a mass of delted and never posted blog entries mostly due to laziness on my part in wriitng and now add the fact my computer is down with a virus and I have only the work computer to pay with so I'm out of action for awhile. Hang in there.

    I guess there are two types of writer's block: (a) knowing what you want to say and not finding the words or (b) not knowing what to say.

    If your problem is (a) then just go with trial and error. Write a version, then wait a day, write another version, wait another day, write a third version, and then compare, pull out what you like from each and re-write a fourth. It will be fine after that.

    If you don't know where to go with a piece, then you have to brainstorm, outline possiblilities, select what you think is what you want to say, and write.

    The problem many people have is they think their first version/draft has to be perfect and literary. Just sit yourself down and write, even if you know it's crappy, tell yourself as you're writing it's crappy, but go with it. Then after you've got a large segment written, go back and undo the crappyness. You may have to throw out, but it's gotten you over the hump and moved on. Another exercise is free flowing writing. Sit yourself down. Set a timer (or just look at your watch) for one hour and write whatever on the subject comes to mind. No thinking, just spurting out sentences, fragments, words as fast as you can with no structure or connection from one to the other. Then after the hour, take a break, and then come back to it and look it over. I bet there will be stuff there that you like and can work into solid writing.
