just a short message today in celebration of Shakespeare's birthday. in his honor I will read a few of my favourite sonnets before going to bed tonight, maybe soon I'll finish my tattoo that symbolizes him. it's a spear being shaken I want to add a part of my favourite sonnet too....

on a volcano note, everything is ok at the moment and not much ash, the kids didn't play outside today but it's ok at the moment..

I'd forgotten that today was Shakespeare's birthday! Which is your favorite sonnet?

I'm glad the ash has not been bad. Thought of you off and on today.

my favourite sonnets are number 65 and 18, of course there are so many more I love but the last two lines in number 18 I want tattooed on my back.... nobody gets my 'shake-a-spear'. oh and his birthday is in my diary along with the birthdays of my family...

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.
Well, unless you are a very large woman, they will have to use very small font.

And here's me thinking you'd go for something by Byron

I'd considered having a poem or a line from a poem tattooed on me somewhere, but every time I think about it I always end up thinking it'd be "The world is ugly and the people are sad" from a Wallace Stevens poem, and somehow that doesn't seem right. So I'm giving it a miss, for now. Maybe for my 60th birthday

We ought to start a thread of which famous lines we would want tattooed on our bodies.

And which parts of our bodies it gets tatooed on.

That would be an interesting thread. We might get a few complaints from relatives of those who went through with it.

Hmmm - got me thinking now.
