Halls of the Dark Muse

You/Me/We

You/Me/We

We
have both been broken
broken minds
broken souls
cracked veneer.

You
help hold me together
a quiet assurance
your hands massage my heart
into life again,
how I fantasize about your hands.

Hands
that could hold me forever,
with a touch heal wounds unseen
sew my very soul
so it does not escape.

I
know the pain you suffer
untouchable parts of you
memories which become nightmares
when you close your eyes.

But
my love is a halo around you
dimming even the sun,
we were dysfunctional souls
searching blindly,
by fate we were woven together.

Yet
together we must still suffer
two bodies kept torn apart
by circumstances.

How
completely we belong to each other
we damaged beings
tormented by physical distinction
some say it is a small world
but for us it never seemed so large.
